Digital Kingcom Joypad Tablet PC 71

This is my personal review about the Digital Kingcom Joypad Tablet PC 71.


This android 2.2 tablet pc I bought in Wellcom Sm Molino branch comes with a 1 year replacement service and parts warranty so it is safer to say that it is better to buy Joypad than the China's Apad because the latter only offers 1 month replacement warranty.

Specification (as per the manual copy)

- two points touch, easy to zoom in and out of images
- high quality sound and high resolution video playback
- 4 way directional gravity sensor
- 2 gb internal storage and support micro sd up to 32 gb
- built in VGA camera
- support WIFI 802.11
- android 2.2 operating system
- free application and games from the android market
- support multi language
- slim design 1.1 cm thickness
- standby time: 10 hours, video playback 3 hours

Accessories:

Charger is included.

It  also comes with a U-Disk, you'll need to use this if you want to transfer files from your flash drive. You'll use this also if you want to connect to the internet via Ethernet.

I am not so sure why the brochure says that it comes with a stylus but when I asked the sales clerk the package does not include it.

PROs

When you want to have an iPad but you can't just afford to buy one, you may want to try the Kingcom Joypad. You can buy this for only 5,300 pesos.

Easy to use and a good alternative to laptop when you do basic internet surfing like checking your yahoo mail, reading news blog and watching youtube videos.

It can read powerpoint presentation and ms word via its pro office suite.

CONs

The battery is easy to get drain. It only can give you less than an hour of playing games, listening to music and surfing the internet. You should always plug the battery charger to enjoy it which is not recommendable because it can damage the battery easily.

I am having a hard time downloading android apps. It keeps on saying download failed. I don't know if I have to configure anything or what not. Good thing I am not really into games and downloads.

My ratings for Digital Kingcom Joypad Tablet PC 71 is 8 over 10.

    i cant connect my smartbro to this joypad.. it always disconnect.. poor quality i guess! it also cant download games and apps..

    Suggestion.
    You should try flashing your system to upgrade stuff in it. I did flash my joypad81 to upgrade the kernel and firmware to v1.3 from v1.2 and I dont have any issues now installing apps/games (also, now i can install apps to SD - which is not permitted in the stock kingcom firmware - looks like a fake froyo to me). The interface looks more awesome than the stock kingcom firmware.
    As what I have researched, the kingcom firmware is somewhat copied from those tablets made in china, its running on WonderMedia8650 system. Its actually cheaper if you buy the china tablets - then flash it to the latest hacked frimware to maximize its potential (my mistake on buying the joypad81 LOL!). Try googling it and think hard before you flash.

    thanks! great help! ive been planning to buy this as well (@ sm molino too haha)and for that.. ive been searching the net bro for a review about this gadget.. i want an alternative pad/tablet to my macbook but i dont want it to be expensive as apple's or samsung's tablets.. thanks for the info.. just wanna ask few more things bro..

    1. does it have accelorometer?
    2. is it ok for gaming?
    3. does it frequently hangs?
    4. how to download games?

    Thanks for the review. Battery life is a very important factor. I want to be mobile. without battery life span, that will be impossible. Won't buy na lang.

    i bought my joypad72 last month. i am still exploring the unit and its features. what i noticed, though, is that the sound is weak. i guess i need a pair of earphones to receive a good audio. another concern is that there is no spare transfer box included. i asked one kingcom employee if they sell it just in case the one i bought gets busted. he said he is not sure.

    Thanks for the review. I'm planning to buy one for my baby, since she keeps bugging me and wanted to play around my laptop so much. Maybe buying her own personal android would stop her from climbing my table and getting my laptop to work as she please. :)

    walang kuwenta ang joypad81 n ito... nbili ko ung skin last year June 2011... 3times ngkaproblema, hindi nman mdalas n gamitin (Calculator lng ang madalas kong gamitin)... kung susumahin 6months ko lang ngamit ung s akin, kc tuwing ippawaranty ko 2months bgo ko mkuha ulit... high Quality Audio daw, No Quality Audio nmn pla... HQ High Resolution Video Playback daw. nghaHang nmn pagnagplay ako ng high Res.Movie... WiFi, 10-15meters lng ang range...
